Sharon E. Pruett, age 86, of Johns Creek, GA (formerly of Princeton, WV), passed away on June 15, 2022.
She was born on February 28, 1936, in Packsville, WV to parents Wilber and Mattie Wright.
Sharon met the love of her life (Harold Pruett) while in college and married on February 28, 1956. She was married for 64 years before Harold’s passing in 2020. She earned an Associate Degree in Medical Secretarial at National Business College in Roanoke, VA and achieved the Accredited Record Technician (ART) designation. She was a member of the WV State chapter of the American Medical Records Association and held various positions including State President. Sharon started her career in Charleston WV in 1956. She moved to Princeton, WV in 1970 to become the Director of the Medical Records Department for the Princeton Community Hospital. She retired from PCH in 1992. In 2012 she moved (with Harold) to Johns Creek, GA to be closer to her children (pretty certain) and grandchildren (most definitely).
Family was important to Sharon. She loved spending time with family and playing cards and games. She always kept up with everyone’s birthday and anniversary. She made sure to always send a card (and reminders to the rest of us). She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and watched every game.
Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Pruett; her father, Wilbur R. Wright; mother, Mattie J. Ebert Wright; brother, F. Craig Wright; sister, Glenda Wright Bradshaw; and son, Gregory Harold Pruett.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda J. Pruett (Gilson); son, Jeffrey W. Pruett (Tina); grandchildren, Alecia J. Farlow, Rick G. Farlow, Harrison C. Pruett, Hudson W. Pruett; great grandchild, Cora J. Stout; and her brother, Dale Wright (Sue).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2022, in Suwanee, GA and a graveside service for spreading of ashes for Sharon and (Harold) on November 26, 2022 in Beckley, WV.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, Princeton, WV – Bobbie Hylton Fund.
