Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
Sheila “Kim” Trivette passed quietly and peacefully after a long, courageous and tenacious battle with cancer and other debilitating diseases. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and was always proud to be “from the Carolinas,” as she spent her early years between Charlotte, and Rock Hill and Greenville in South Carolina. Kim was a musician and artist and loved exploring the outdoors and mountains around her Carolina homes. Professionally, Kim worked in restaurant and bar management. She managed the Comedi Inn in Charlotte, where she met her husband, Alpha (a standup comic at the time) which led her to a career as a comedy agent. Alpha’s career turned to radio and that led them and their family around the country from Charlotte, St. Louis, Seattle, Kansas City, Tampa, Denver, and finally to Atlanta. All along the way Kim’s outgoing personality opened new opportunities and made lifelong friends. In Atlanta, Kim worked as a computer drafter, plotting utility, power, and cable lines for companies all over the East Coast, even redesigning underground power networks for Con Ed and all the New York City boroughs. She had amazing talents in crafts, excelling at every craft she tried. Her artistic eye helped her in creating beautiful art pieces, calligraphy, knitting intricate patterns, designing pocketbooks out of classic vinyl records and even carving unique and imaginative images in ostrich eggs. Kim loved her family and was surrounded by them and their love at home in Suwanee, Georgia at her death.
Kim was preceded in death by her son; TJ Edwards; Parents, Kathleen Goolsby and Robert McMurray and stepfather, Richard Goolsby; Siblings; Barbara Ann McMurray, Mary Joyce McMurray, and Dawn Lynn McMurray and James Stanley McMurray.
Kim is survived by her husband, Alpha Trivette; Daughters, Flieca Trivette, her husband Ken Floyd of Suwanee, GA, and Maria Middleton and husband, Jeff Dorman of Richmond VA; Three grandchildren, Sabrina Smith, Teejay, and Everette Floyd; Sister, Sylvia Bragg; Brothers Shane McMurray and Robert Reaux.
Plans for a celebration of life are pending and will be truly that…a celebration. Those plans will be arranged when the time is right.

Dear Flieca and Ken. I’m sending our deepest condolences from Richard and I to your whole family. Losing a parent is so hard. She sounded like an amazing person who loved life and brought such joy to anyone she met.
After learning of all her struggles with her health, it’s a blessing to know she’s not struggling or in pain anymore.
God bless her and keep her soul alive in her family.
Love Diane and Richard in Ottawa.
