Sidney Crawford Watson of Griffin, Georgia, passed away on October 23, 2017.
Ms. Watson was a loving and tender-hearted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to many. She was born on January 5, 1942, in Springfield, Ohio. Ms. Watson spent most of her adult life working in telecommunications, where eventually she retired as a supervisor for Southern Bell. After retirement, her generous spirit led her to volunteering at Hand-n-Hand Mission. Ms. Watson was quite a lady, who loved to shop, dine, and enjoyed spending time with her chihuahuas.
Ms. Watson is preceded in death by her brothers Reuben Crawford and Paul Crawford; her husband of 17 years, Mr. Franklin D. Watson, Sr.; and her late husband, Mr. Horace Watson of 9 years; and her son, Robert Watson; and her step-son David Watson (Debbie).
Her survivors include her brothers Albert “Pat” Crawford and Jack Crawford; son, Franklin D. Watson, Jr. (Judy Watson); step-daughter Jo Anne Allen (David), step-son Donnie Watson (Deb), step-daughter June Parker (Terry), step-son Michael Watson (Debbie) granddaughter Amber Rhodes (John Rhodes); granddaughter Shaina Anderson (Jeff Anderson); and great-grandsons Henry Anderson and Aidan Anderson; and her soon-to-born great-granddaughters. Ms. Watson is also survived by many loving step-grandchildren as well as step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be Saturday, November 4th, 2017, at 3 o’clock at Cornerstone Assembly of God, 1630 Zebulon Rd, Griffin. The family is requesting, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to Hand-n-Hand Mission (c/o Ann Taylor) 3175 Fayetteville Rd, Griffin, Georgia.
