Sigurd (Sig) Sheel, born on October 26, 1949, in Buffalo to the late Sigurd and Rose Sheel, passed away on April 22, 2024, in Auburn, GA peacefully, with his wife and best furry friend Coco by his side.
Sig was predeceased by his sister, Grechen Kish (survived by her husband, Gary).
He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. Sig was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills, despite relocating from Buffalo to Florida and then to Georgia. His legacy lives on through his family, including his wife Kathy, children Carolyn (Prosper) and Dan (Amara), and grandchildren Jaxon, Jaden, and Milo.
A celebration of life is planned for the future, and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Atlanta Humane Society or a Humane Society of your choice.
Georgia Cremation in Duluth is assisting the family with arrangements.

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sig. Condolences to all of his family.
Sig and Coco were the first to greet Yogi and me when we made our first visit to the Rabbit Hill dog park almost 8 years ago. His sense of humor and his take on politics and current events were something I always looked forward to when we met him there. Hoping that Kathleen and the rest of Sig’s family will find peace and comfort.

I was introduced to Sig in 1966 through Del Scheffer. What a great tag team they were.
My fondest memories were driving in the back of Sigs big brown box truck when we were still in grammar school. Blasting the radio we felt so free. Fly high my friend.

My friend Sig. We met at the dog park in the early stages of covid. A group of us came together each day and we all, together, got us through the insanity of that first year. The sweetest soul he was. I’m grateful to have know him. Peace to you and the family dear Kathy.
