Stanley Brock Wilson passed away January 27, 2018 at the age of 60.
Life Story
Stan spent his life serving others. H e always had a big laugh to share and a great story to tell. He encouraged everyone, especially his son, to reach for their dreams. He was a constant practical joker, known for his contagious laugh and smile. Finding a career in the restaurant industry allowed Stan to do what he did best: Be the life of the party, make everyone feel special; and enjoy being the ultimate foodie!
Stan grew up in Atlanta, attending Northside High and later going on to Lynchburg and Flagler Colleges from which he graduated. His proudest achievement was his son, Fletcher.
Stan was one of a kind. He never met a stranger, or let anyone in need go without. He put everyone before himself, which is why he had so many beside him at the end. He was the ultimate giver who wore his heart on his sleeve, never letting anyone know when he was hurting or struggling. Stan leaves this world a better place for being in it, and will forever be missed.
Family
Stan is survived by his son, Fletcher Wilson Harper; sister-in-law, Linda Wilson; nephews, Rodney Wilson and wife, Alison, and Chad Wilson and wife, Elizabeth. Other relatives include aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry L. Wilson and Evelyn Brock Wilson Persells; stepfather, Lester Persells; and his brother, Ronald Lynn Wilson.

At the Rising of the Sun
At the rising of the sun
and its going down,
WE REMEMBER THEM.
At the blowing of the wind
and in the chill of winter,
WE REMEMBER THEM.
In the opening of the buds
and in the rebirth of the spring,
WE REMEMBER THEM.
At the blueness of the skies
and in the warmth of summer,
WE REMEMBER THEM.
At the rustling of the leaves
and the beauty of autumn,
WE REMEMBER THEM.
As long as we live, they too will live;
for they are now a part of us,
As we remember them.
Noell Persells Steele says
I’m so sorry for your loss. I was trying to get in touch with stan and Ronald a few years ago. I’m the granddaughter of Lester Herman Persells who passed in November of 2005. I’m sorry to try and reach out this way, but I can’t seem to find anyone from any other avenues. If someone could contact me, I would appreciate it. I’m not looking for anything but information about his burial location and some stories if you all have any. My email is persellsnc@gmail.com
