Steven Amory Stowe

Share

Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.

January 7, 1961 – January 29, 2026

Steven Amory Stowe was born on January 7, 1961, to Joyce and Amory Stowe. He passed away on January 29, 2026, surrounded by his wife and children.

Steve found joy in the simple, meaningful things in life. A true outdoorsman, he could often be found hunting or fishing. He was funny and quick-witted, with a natural gift for making others laugh and bringing light to any moment. Steve loved to sing and play the guitar every chance he got, using his musical talents to honor the Lord. In his younger years, he performed with his band, Steve Stowe and the Stowaways, sharing his love of music with all who heard him.

At the center of Steve’s life was his family. He shared nearly 20 years of love and marriage with his wife, Lain Stowe, whom he loved deeply. His twin daughters, Payten Gallatin and Preslie Maberry, were truly his world, and he was a proud and devoted father who loved his girls fiercely.

Steve loved the Lord and lived his life grounded in faith, which gave him strength throughout his life and during his illness. He also had a special place in his heart for his dogs, Toby and Tucker, who brought him comfort, companionship, and plenty of smiles.

Steve is survived by his wife, Lain Stowe; his daughters, Payten Gallatin (Zachary) and Preslie Maberry (Josh); his stepsons, Paul Wray (Leigh) and Steve Wray, his grandchildren, Leah Wray, Payton Wray, and Rylan Wray; his sister, Sandra Stowe Wilson (Mike); and along with many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Steve will be remembered for his humor, his faith, his love of the outdoors, and his unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy lives on through the love he gave, the laughter he shared, the memories we hold close—and, of course, all the deer on the wall. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Services for Steve will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Fortson, Georgia. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11:00 a.m., with the service to follow at 12pm.

Lane mine and Kenneth’s prayers are with you and the rest of the family. I will always remember seeing Steve walking by our Sunday School classroom window. So one day I ask someone in our class what he was doing. They said he was praying over the church and everyone in it. May God be with all of you.
