Ms. Tarita Caviness, 62, of Duluth, GA peacefully passed from this life on October 19, 2023. Tarita was born on February 6, 1961, to Mildred Fuce and Crosby Caviness. She was educated in Yonkers, NY where she grew up alongside her three siblings. Tarita worked in many occupations, but she excelled as a Home Health Aide.
Tarita was a proud member of Greater Centennial A.M.E. Zion Church in Mount, Vernon, NY, and loved listening to gospel music. She continued her worship virtually when she relocated. She also loved to cook, 
watch The Price is Right, and any movie with Steven Seagal. She was a loving mother and always thoughtful and willing to help in any way possible. She was funny, encouraging, and very spontaneous. Her friends and family will miss her terribly.
Tarita was preceded in death by her parents: Crosby Caviness and Mildred Fuce; brother: Donald Fuce; and sister: Tarley Caviness. She is survived by her daughters: Iesha Brewton (nee McBride) and Nadia McBride; granddaughters: Jessiah Brewton, Zy’Niya Brewton, Zae’Lyn McBride, and Azeriah Barrett; sister: Tyana Caviness and niece: Chantry Williams.
Tarita’s family will hold a private Celebration of Life at a later date to honor her. Georgia Cremation in Duluth is assisting the family.

A queen, a lady with a heart of gold and someone who always thought of me! You’d always find your way to my mom’s house and you made sure to make her fry you some chicken! Everytime you smiled, you lit up the room. Eventhough you moved, you still found time to visit me when you came back to MV.
