Tommy Eugene Burke, 82 of Mauk, GA formerly of Columbus passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at his home. A memorial service will be held later when conditions allow.

Mr. Burke was born May 4, 1938 in Colquitt, GA the son of Joe and Pearl Braswell Burke. He joined the army as a teenager and served for eight years. Mr. Burke married Joyce O’Hearn in 1958. After his military service, he worked for West Point Pepperell and later, Signs Inc. Mr. Burke eventually retired from Kinnett Dairies. While living in Columbus, he and his family were members of the former Antioch Baptist Church. He was most recently a member and deacon of Fort Perry Baptist Church in Mauk. Mr. Burke always enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Fred and Edward Burke, two sisters, Rosa Hodges and Dorothy Norris and a grandson, Rodney Burke, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Burke of Mauk; his children, Regina (Walker) Moore of Columbus, Rodney Burke, Sr. of Mauk, Shelley (Jim) Whitley of Phenix City; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
