Tommy Raiford McBride peacefully entered the kingdom of heaven on September 25th, 2024. There will be a celebration of life at 10:00am on Saturday September 28th at Evangel Church 5350 Veterans Parkway, Columbus, Ga 31904 at Room 208 with a family service to follow.
Tommy was Born on February 3rd, 1943, to John and Nadine McBride of Columbus, Ga. Tommy graduated from Jordan High School and loved to fish and play any type of sports where competition was involved. After High School he had a brief stint in California where he loved to announce that he hitchhiked across the country and worked at a car wash. He moved back to Columbus in 1965 and met the woman that changed his life forever, Susan Kelly, and began their 59-year journey together. Tommy owned and operated McBride’s auto parts for 20+ years before he and Susan got into real estate. With 4 children to keep them busy Tommy & Susan were a part of all things sports and extremely active at Evangel Temple.
Preceded in death by his parents John and Nadine McBride and daughter Suzannah McBride. Survivors include his wife, Susan McBride of Columbus, Ga, his children Whitney McBride of Columbus, Ga, Caroline McBride of Columbus, Ga and Thomas (Jaye) McBride of Sorrento, Fl. 4 grandchildren Suzannah (Michael) Thurman, Gabriel Williams, Josiah McBride and Tinsley McBride.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Evangel Church.
Georgia Cremation – Columbus is assisting the family with arrangements.
