Vera Louise Hutchinson Hill, age 68, of Union City, passed away May 20, 2020.
Ms. Hill was born in Spartanburg, SC, on June 28, 1951. She grew up in the Spartanburg area and graduated from Carver High School. She went on to study at Virginia Union University. Ms. Hill joined the team of Eastern Airlines as a flight attendant. She kept this position until the company’s closing in 1991. Ms. Hill spent some years as a stay-at-home mother for her pride and joy, her only son, Czyz. Over the years, Ms. Hill had several other careers. She was a fingerprint technician with the GBI, a Wal-Mart greeter at several locations and eventually a daycare worker. Ms. Hill finally retired in 2013.
Ms. Hill was straightforward and direct. She wasn’t one to sugar coat something. She liked to laugh and enjoyed her family. Ms. Hill was a wonderful mother. She loved her son unconditionally and was endlessly supportive of him. Ms. Hill was a praying woman. She was devout in her prayers and Bible studies. She was a lifelong Seventh-Day Adventist.
Ms. Hill was a longtime member of First Riverdale Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She was involved in the church’s children’s activities. Ms. Hill will be remembered as a God-loving, loving mother, sister and aunt.
Ms. Hill was preceded in death by her mother: Mary Louise Thompson Hill; father: Albert Hutchinson; beloved pet dog: Chicco. She is survived by her son: Czyz Hill and his partner Ashley Teague of Newnan; sisters: Gladys Hutchinson and Lavonne Hutchinson, both of Spartanburg; brother: David Hutchinson of Atlanta; favorite nephew and beloved nieces: Mike Hutchinson, Jamie Hutchinson and Angela Hutchinson, all of Spartanburg.
A Memorial Service will be held in Ms. Hill’s honor at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Ms. Hill’s wishes were for loved ones to donate to the charity of their choice in her honor.

Czyz Cheryl and I really loved your mom. And tho we were not in contact she was always in our prayers. We quite often remanise about the old days at Cascade when she and I would cook hot lunch. She is a wonderful friend and a great woman. We will miss her until we see her again in Heaven. You are in our prayers.

We had the honor of being neighbors and friends with Vera and Czyz from 1989 through 2000 till we moved to Colorado. She will be dearly missed. She had the most gentle spirt we’ve ever known, yet the strongest woman we’ve ever knew. Czyz our heart go out to you and your loved ones. You and Ron sure have a true friendship. You grew up to be a wonderful young man. All your moms love and devotion was to you. Your mother is always your closest friend and big supporter. She loved you more than anything Czyz. God Bless You
