In Loving Memory of Vicki Lynn Rogers Hartwell
With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Vicki Lynn Rogers Hartwell on March 22, 2025, in Columbus, Georgia. A devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, beloved Mim Mim, and cherished friend to many, Vicki’s presence was a light in the lives of all who knew her.
Born on February 23, 1959, in Atlanta, Georgia, Vicki made her home in Columbus, where she embraced life’s moments with unwavering love for her family and friends. For forty years, she was the devoted wife and soulmate of Glendon “Royce” Hartwell, sharing a beautiful journey together, filled with adventures and treasured memories. Their travels took them to many special places, but Texas and Panama City Beach, Florida always held a special place in her heart—especially the beach, where she found joy basking in the sun. Before becoming a dedicated military wife and stay-at-home mother, Vicki’s natural charisma and determination led her to hold the top sales position with Heritage Publishing.
A loving and nurturing mother, Vicki’s heart knew no bounds. She poured her love into raising her children—Josh Silva, Justin Hartwell, Tabetha Hartwell, and Jacob Hartwell—and extended that same warmth to the many children she cared for over the years, touching the lives of more than twenty families. Vicki’s kindness knew no limits; she was always ready with a listening ear, a helping hand, and a heart full of love. Her grandchildren—Kinsley, Melody, Harmony, Symphony, and Elijah—were the stars of her universe, bringing her immeasurable joy.
Vicki’s radiant spirit was unmistakable. With her unique style, striking eyes, warm smile, and infectious laughter, she had a way of making everyone feel comfortable and at ease. Her vivacious, playful personality made her the life of every gathering. She and Royce shared a love for fishing, winning a karaoke contest together, and enjoying the little moments that made life special. Artistic and creative, Vicki loved to draw and doodle, expressing herself through her sketches. She also had a deep love for animals, and while many dogs found a place in her heart, Bella, CC and Little Mama were especially dear to her.
Her faith in God was unshakable. A true night owl, she often spent the quiet hours of the night reading her well-worn, highlighted Bible, absorbing the wisdom of pastors and Christian prophets. Her love for the Lord was the foundation of her life, guiding her through every season.
The holidays were among her most cherished times, when she could gather with family and friends to celebrate, laugh, and create lasting memories. Easter, the Fourth of July—which held special meaning as a military wife—and Thanksgiving were all treasured, but Christmas was her favorite. She rejoiced in celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, finding pure joy in the season’s spirit of love and giving.
Vicki is survived by her loving husband, Glendon Royce Hartwell; her children, Joshua Silva, Justin Hartwell, Tabetha Hartwell and Brad Webb, and Jacob Hartwell; her grandchildren, Kinsley, Melody, Harmony, Symphony, and Elijah; her sister, Debra Rogers Hauglie, and brother-in-law, David Hauglie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is reunited in Heaven with her parents, Claude Rogers and Louise Fowler, and her beloved sisters, Linda Bailey, Rose Ellen Stewart, Kathy Bohanon, Jane Talley, Suzanne Lord, and Nancy Miller.
Vicki Lynn Rogers Hartwell was a bright light in a world that often felt dim. Her sparkle, her laughter, and her boundless love will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. Through our memories, stories, and photographs, we will carry her legacy forward.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 29, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Hauglie Residence: 8091 Chapel Lake Dr., Midland, GA 31820. A private ceremony will take place on April 10, 2025, at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, Alabama.
Though she has left this world, her love, her faith, and her spirit will live on forever.
