Vyronia Marilyn Manning, the daughter of Edna and Samuel Blair, was born on October 7, 1959, in the parish of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, and would later migrate to Manchester, Jamaica, where she would attend George James Training School. Later, she would again migrate, this time to the United States, in 1986.
Once settled in the United States, she would go on to attend both Monroe College and Westchester Community College. After attending college, she would be employed by Green Point Bank, Stern’s, and Macy’s before becoming a long-term CNA. She would later go on to rekindle her relationship with Lovell Manning, which led to the birth of their daughter, Ronique, in June of 1993 and their marriage in December of 1993. Their union, strong and successful, would come to a saddening end with Lovell’s passing on April 3, 2012.
If I were to provide a character sketch of Vyronia, I would express how present she was. She preferred to live her enjoyments freely, whether that be with family, work, or shopping. She was honest but caring, even to those she hadn’t spoken with or to for long. She was funny, caring, friendly, and quietly selfless with the people she loved.
Tragically, on March 26, 2024, an accident would force Vyronia to leave the world suddenly. Left behind to mourn such irreparable loss are her son, Bjorn; daughter, Ronique; one brother, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, a grandson, and a host of friends.
May her soul soar beautifully to her final resting place.
