William Bryan Mayfield, 93, of Richland, Georgia passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020. Bryan was born on December 6, 1926 in Warrior, Alabama to the late William and Nola Mayfield, who had a total of 11 children.
He served in the United States Army during World War II, stationed in Iceland. Bryan was also self-employed, working as a barber for many years in Columbus, Georgia and later moving his business to Lumpkin, Georgia, where he retired. Bryan married LaJuana Elaine Caraway on July 22, 1950 and had one son, Mark Stanley Mayfield. They moved to Richland, Georgia and were active members in their community. Bryan enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and had a passion for preaching and studying the Bible.
Bryan was preceded in death by wife, LaJuana Mayfield, and son, Stan Mayfield. He is survived by his grandson, Brandon Mayfield (Jordan), great-grandson Bryce Mayfield, and daughter in law, Ladell Mayfield.
A Memorial Service is being held at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 1:00 PM EST with Military Honors. Please be advised of the Covid-19 policies requirements of 50 people or less and everyone must wear a mask.
