William David Hardy, 68, went to meet the Lord on July 31, 2020.
David was born March 11,1952 in Columbus, GA, where he remained a lifelong resident. He was an alumnus of Hardaway High School, Clinical Specialist School at Womack Army Hospital in Ft. Bragg, NC, and Columbus College Nursing School. He enjoyed a 40 year career as an ophthalmic surgical registered nurse, and was a faithful and dedicated member of Christ Community Church. He loved traveling, going on cruises, and in his younger days, was known to enjoy golfing and woodworking. In the autumn of his life, David became especially passionate about his relationship with God. His deepening love of Jesus led him to become involved in many community groups where he developed a passion for mentoring and serving others. David loved life; he loved giving and doing for others. He had many cherished friends, and a family, that he especially enjoyed spending quality time with, that will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elfin and James G Hardy Sr. (Nanny & Paw Paw), whom he loved deeply.
Survivors include: his wife; Susan Cabeceiras Hardy, children; Shawn (Miranda) Hardy and Shannon Hardy, and their mother Debra Fuller all of Columbus, three brothers; James G (Wynell) Hardy Jr., Douglas (Linda) Hardy, both of Columbus, and Roger Dean (Sheila) Hardy of Asheville, NC, grandchildren; Madison, Tyler, and Luke, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
David intentionally shared God’s love while making a difference in the lives of others.
