Joe Suttles, age 86 of Sandy Springs, Georgia passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Cathedral of Christ the King 2699 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta,  Georgia 30305. Monsignor Frank G. McNamee will serve as celebrant. Born  in East Point, William J. “Joe” Suttles was a life-long resident of Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating from Russell High School he  served in the United States Army before attending the University of  Georgia where he graduated early with a degree in business. After  college, he worked in sales and management in the cosmetics industry,  traveled the world extensively and became interested in antiques and the arts while raising a family. Joe was a consummate gardener and inveterate collector who surrounded himself with art and beauty.  This was nowhere in greater evidence than his marriage of 51 years to  his wife Margaret. In the months before his passing, he worked  diligently towards the completion of a manuscript, designed and  installed a memorial to his ancestors and never stopped tending to his  garden or looking for that one last undiscovered work for his  collection. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Lambert  Suttles and Claude Louis Suttles and his sister, Mary Suttles Wilkins.  Joe is survived by: his wife of 51 years, Margaret Barker Suttles of  London England; his 2 sons Joseph L. Suttles of Asheville, North  Carolina and Sean David Suttles of Huntsville, Alabama; and 6 grandchildren: Emma, Bennett, Abbey, Jane Katherine, Sam and Ella. Joe  had many interests he supported passionately throughout his life but  asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Our Lady of Perpetual Help 760 Pollard Blvd. SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30315 in memory of Joe  Suttles.
