Scott A. Sanders

Share

Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.

Scott A. Sanders, age 48, died unexpectedly at home on May 31, 2019. He was born on March 4, 1971, in Tampa, Florida, to Burl and Annette Johnson Sanders, the youngest son in a family of four children. He met the love of his life, Sandra Elaine Hall, at Clarkston High School.  They were married on June 23, 1990, shortly after they graduated high school.  Scott supported Sandra in completing her college degrees and in her teaching career.  The arrival of son Logan in 2001 and daughter Rylee in 2004 added to their joyous life together.

Scott was a devoted husband, father, and friend to all. He relished playing competitive golf with Uncle Huey, family volleyball matches with Uncle Earl, riding in Uncle Alwin’s Mustang, visiting with Aunt Rose, fishing at cousin Melvin’s place with Ron, and enjoying cousin Linda’s dumplings. He took his family camping in the mountains, swimming at Longboat Key with Uncle Caspar, cousins Darlene, Lolita, Jeff, Clarence, and Marlena; playing trivia, and singing karaoke. He treasured his memories of Uncle Allen, Uncle Shelby, and Uncle Quinton. Scott took particular pride in bringing up his children to be kind, considerate, hardworking, and prudent with money.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, a cousin he loved like a brother, Clarence Johnson, and niece Laura Sanders. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Sandra, son Logan, and daughter Rylee; brother Ron Sanders, and nephew Jeremy Sanders; sister Tina Sanders Biggs, brother-in-law Chuck Biggs, and niece Amanda Sanders Hernandez;  sister Jeana L. Sanders; father-in-law Roger Hall; sister-in-law Asia Hall Morgan, brother-in-law Steven Morgan, nieces Leann and Haley; sister-in-law Kelly Hall; sister-in-law Sharee Kubik, niece Destinie, and nephews Matt and Gabriel; brother-in-law Steven Watts, sister-in-law Paige, niece Brooklyn, and nephew Steven; many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins; and lifelong friends Joel and Melissa Martin, Bill and Wendy Parker, Matt and Wendy Shivers, and Gary and Jan Brewster.

The family will receive guests at 10 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 300 Simonton Road SW, Lawrenceville, GA, 30046.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Happy Feat.org, a non-profit organization that provides day programs for young adults with special needs.

    Dear Sandra, Riley and Logan,
So sorry to hear of Scott’s passing.
We spent many happy years together and Scott was a fun cheerful person.
I watched him turn from a boy into a young man and then a loving husband and father.
Some of the best memories was Scott and the strawberries. Sandra you remember : )
Scott had one of the BEST singing voices and many times I encouraged him to go to Nashville. He is surly singing in heaven now.
    With prayers and deepest condolences,
    Sheryl

I was thirteen years old when Scott was born. I was his mother and father for the first 5 years of his life. When he passed away I lost my brother, son, and best friend. We know each other like the back of our hands. He knew I loved him, but I don’t think he knew how much. I don’t know what I will do without you.

    Love, Ron.

I tried writing this a few times only to stop and reminisce about the times I had spent with Scott and Sandy. Lots of football games, plenty of laughs, a few drinks here and there and PLENTY of golf! I speak on behalf of all of the guys that attended the Hickory Knob Invitational that Scott was a integral part of the past decade and more. With the tournament two months away, it will be more and more difficult to imagine him not being there. He will be sorely missed by ALL of us! Prayers to the entire Sanders family! Scott, our friend. Rest in Peace man, rest in peace!

  32. Stephanie Harrington says

So many great memories of Scott…growing up all of us cousins played hide and seek around the Holiday Inn, had chicken fights in the pool, fought hard to win the softball and volleyball tournaments, and watched each other’s talents in the annual talent show! Scott, you were always singing, making us laugh with your witty sense of humor, and just being a friend to all.
I will be praying for Sandra and the kids and the rest of your family. It’s painful and heartbreaking to lose you so young, but I know you’re singing with the angels now. Love you Scott…until we meet again cousin…
