Dannie Wayne Money passed away Thursday, Sept 7, 2023 in his home holding hands with the love of his life, Brenda. He was born in Columbus GA on March 28, 1950 to Curley and Mary Holloway Money.
Dannie and Brenda K Money married June 4, 1973 in Phenix City, Alabama and lived most of their life in the Highland Avenue area.
Dannie was preceded in death by his parents, their eldest child Patricia Carden who passed away July 18, 2007 and her son, Stephen Carden.
Wayne Wilson, Joseph Wilson, Ray Wallner, Michael Wilson and Caleb Money have all been blessed to have been born into their hearts, whether by blood or marriage.
Charles Money (Joyce) his only sibling were only three years apart and were lucky enough to not only be brothers but best friends.
Dannie and Charles were painters by trade, but their passion has always music just like their Momma and Daddy. Curly Money and the Ramblers made their way across the southeast tearing up juke joints along the way. They all became local celebrities at the Green Valley Club. But, The Gallops Center will always hold a place in the Money family tree as the venue that always felt like home.
Dannie was known most for, You’re the Reason and I Saw Her Standing There, both recorded as records and can still be found on his YouTube channel, of which he was so proud of, even though he had no idea what a follower was.
When Caleb entered their life, both Dannie and Brenda found a new zeal for life. God blessed both of them as they nurtured him into a kind, loving and tender-hearted young man with a safe place to call home. While Caleb brought them purpose and new meaning everyday.
Dannie was blessed with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and even great grandchildren.
He always had a joke or story to tell, even if he was the only one that laughed, because we had all heard them so many times before.
We are thankful for the life, the love and the laughter he provided us all, nut let us never forget his zesty spirit and always knowing he was right, even when he wasn’t.
The Money Family is being assisted by Georgia Cremation of Columbus. Please leave a condolence or share a fond memory of Mr. Money below.
