John “Johnny” Arthur Johnston of Box Springs, Georgia, passed away in Columbus, Georgia, on October 25, 2024. Johnny was born on March 12, 1947, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to the late Ashley and Gussie Johnston.

Johnny found joy in reading, held a deep appreciation for history, and had a passion for music, reflected in his extensive collection of CDs. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, creating lasting memories with those he loved.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gloria; three children, Mike (Gloria) Johnston, Greg (Susan) Johnston, and Jill (Darryl) Smith; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brothers, Aaron Johnston and Jimmy Johnston.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jenny Marie Johnston; sister, Leslie Kornatowski; and brother, Bob Johnston.

A memorial service will be held at Geneva Baptist Church on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 2 p.m. All are welcome to join in celebrating Johnny’s life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Geneva Baptist Church in Johnny’s memory.
