Ann Moncus Lamb, 82 of Columbus, GA died October 3rd at Piedmont, MidTown Medical center after a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Denny Lamb Sr., her mother Gladys Dollar Moncus, father Drannon Jackson Moncus, and a stillborn son, John Clay Lamb.
Surviving are her daughter Jacqueline Lamb Willey (Chris) and son James Denny Lamb Jr. (Vicky). She counted Chris and Vicky as two of the best things that ever happened to her family. She is also survived by a large group of friends, both human and furry.
From drag racing as a teenager, hanging out with Jerry Lee Lewis and Mark Denning, moving to Africa, and dodging Ethiopian rebels as an army wife, she lived an adventurous life. Ann was fearless and a friend who you could always depend on. Many young adults in Columbus benefited from their time as her bonus grandchildren. Ann was a breast cancer survivor, loved her cats and dogs, and ensured no feral cat in her neighborhood went hungry. She knew God and had no fear of death.
A celebration of her life will be planned for a future date.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to Paws Humane Columbus, GA or any Breast Cancer charity.
The Lamb family is being assisted by Georgia Cremation, 7500 Veterans Parkway, Suite A, Columbus, Georgia 31909, 706-577-0055.
