Anthony “Tony” Klabnik, age 70, of Johns Creek, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a brief battle with cancer.
Tony was born on January 24, 1956, in Freeport, Pennsylvania, to Anthony L. Klabnik and Shirley A. Klabnik. He graduated from Osborne High School in Marietta, Georgia, in 1974 and went on to earn a degree in Industrial Engineering from Southern Technical Institute in 1980.
Tony enjoyed a successful career in apparel manufacturing at Hart Schaffner Marx for many years before transitioning into an auditing consultant for manufacturing facilities, where his expertise and dedication earned the respect of colleagues throughout his career.
Those who knew Tony will remember him for his love of cars, concerts, Star Trek, and an ice-cold Coke. He was the family’s handyman and “Mr. Fix-It,” always willing to lend a helping hand or solve a problem for family and friends. Tony was known for his thoughtful gift-giving, quick wit, and playful sense of humor that brought smiles to those around him. Fiercely independent, he never wanted anyone to worry about him and faced life’s challenges with quiet strength and determination.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony L. Klabnik and Shirley A. Klabnik.
He is lovingly remembered by his brother, Rich Klabnik (Carol) of Gainesville, Georgia; his daughters, Emily Kelley Pennington (Tim) of Hoover, AL and Amy Kelley McKinney (Danny) of Vestavia Hills, AL; and his cherished grandchildren, Michael Pennington, Sadie Pennington, MJ Pennington, and Bain McKinney. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Pete Klabnik (Alexus) of Belton, TX, Jennie Klabnik (James Glass) of Chattanooga TN, and AJ Klabnik (Anaya Ferrell) of Woodstock, GA along with many dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Tony’s legacy lives on in the lessons he taught through his generosity, dependability, humor, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His family will celebrate his life at a later date.
Georgia Cremation Duluth assisted the family with arrangements.
