Mrs. Barbara Ann Cotton, age 70, of Thomaston, Georgia, passed away on August 9th, 2026. Born to the late Gene Tubbs and Esther Tubbs, formerly Esther Walker, in Great Lakes, Illinois. While originally from Illinois, she grew up in Miami, Florida before settling here in Georgia during the winter of her life. 

She touched many lives during her time with us, from her beloved sons, grandchildren, and those beyond her family. Those who knew her describe her as compassionate and selfless, always putting the needs of others before herself. Her kindness extended even into her professional life, where she worked as a houseparent to children who had lost their own parents. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by those whose lives she had touched. 

She is survived by her mother, Esther Tubbs of Thomasville, GA; her brother, Timothy Tubbs, of Thomasville, GA; her two sons, Brandon “Brad” Cotton, of Beech Bluff, TN, and Christopher “Chris” Cotton, of Thomaston, GA; and her grandchildren, Gavin, Logan, and Levi Cotton of Beech Bluff, TN.

She is preceded in death by her father, Gene Tubbs.
