I have known Carl since high school. On our trips to Matamoros, Mexico we had fun. If anyone came to our table for trouble, we just said Carl stand up, and they we’re gone. He was a great musician as he played drummer for several bands. He was always happy and fun to hang with, always smiling. My wife and I visited him and Laura in Chicago and Fayetteville several times. I loved that man like a brother and will cherish our memories forever.

I had the honor of being his son in law for 25 years. Many memories and many good times. He always shared how proud he was of us and the kids. That meant a lot to us. I will miss our talks about the kids, talking sports, talking guns and most of all, just listening to you. Our 4th of July parties were the best and I know you truly enjoyed them. I will make sure this year on the 4th of July when we’re looking up at our grand finale, there’s enough light in the sky to see you smiling down! Love you and will miss you Carl.

Psalm 118:21
“I shall give thanks to you, for you have answered me.”
A long time ago I received support from Carl when I needed it most. My thoughts and prayers are for his wife and family. You were blessed by someone willing to listen and lend advice that is still carried today.

Though I’m truly saddened by this I’m at peace knowing that he is home and at ease. Carl was like a father to me for the last 20 plus years. I learned so much from this man. I always loved just sitting and listening to his stories and learning from his wisdom. It was a true honor calling him my father in-law and the grandfather of my children. He truly will be missed.

My husband Don and I met Laura and Carl at our church- the Ashburn Baptist Church in Orland Park, IL. It was their first time there, and we welcomed them to our church. They continued to come for several years, and we became very good friends with them. We didn’t like the idea of them moving to Georgia, but they wanted to be near their family. We would see them several times a year when they would come to visit us and other friends. We did a lot of praying for Carl when he got SO sick. We will miss them coming here, but we know we will see them some day up in heaven. Laura, we know you will miss Carl, but we will continue to pray for you. Much love to you.

Carl was a best friend to me. I appreciate having known him. Our wives met in Walgreens and later had a three hour lunch. We enjoyed spending time together. I first met Carl when we had him and Laura over for dinner, and Carl gave his testimony for Jesus at the dinner table. He boldly spoke of the Jesus that had changed his life. This was Carl. Laura you are much loved by so many, and we will be with Carl agin .
