Carolyn Neal, Age 73, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on February 11, 2024 at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Memorial Services will be held 11 am, Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Gateway Church 6650 Buena Vista Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Ms. Neal was born Jan 18,1951 in Columbus, Georgia to Ager and Bennie Mae Neal. Carolyn was affectionately known as “Toot-Toot” within the family. Carolyn graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Columbus, GA in 1969. She continued her education by starting her nursing journey at Boston College, and she later earned her LPN degree at Columbus College in Columbus, Georgia (now known as CSU). With over 20 years of dedicated service, Carolyn worked faithfully for the Columbus Medical Center (Piedmont Regional Hospital) and Hamilton House. Carolyn was a devoted member of Wynnton Hill Baptist Church and later Gateway Church. Carolyn sang in the choir at Gateway Church for many years. She actively participated in the Gallop Senior Center Program, where she loved playing bingo and singing in the choir. She also served as the Secretary. Carolyn loved spending time with her family and friends. She had an infectious smile, great sense of humor, love for music, and dancing.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents the late Bennie Mae Neal and Ager Neal and her sister Catherine Key Turner.
She is survived by her Daughter; Zeneya Neal-Jones, Son; Jaevin Roshaun Neal, and Daughter; Katie-Oxaunna Nichols, Siblings; Carrie Walden Sumrall and Patricia Abell, Grandchildren; Justin Neal-Jones, Cazario Mabry, Kylah Blouffer, Keh-lani Nichols, and Kameron Nichols, along with a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Family, and Friends who cherished her.

What can I say, I love my Aunt Toot Toot and will always remember her creativity and love for history. Rest in peace my dear aunt. We will continue your family legacy. I love you always. I will always remember Aunt TootToot as the big sister that would go out of her way to take her way to pile all of her nieces and nephews into that little Toyota Corolla and carry us to church, the park, to the movies and family gatherings.
