Delilah Jean Buchanan passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, at the age of 94, leaving behind a legacy defined by love, strength, and grace. Born on September 16, 1931, in Leechburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Daniel LeSueur Sr. and Elmira Christina Young.
Delilah was the devoted wife of Edward L. Buchanan and the loving mother of Carolyn Jean, Edward Jerome, and Lisa Elaine Buchanan. Delilah was the cherished grandmother of Jenetta Mason, Chad Buchanan, Monique Hill and Bryce Martin, and the proud great‑grandmother of Daniel Jr., Eddie, Nicolas, Elijah, Miles, and Gabrielle. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her daughter Carolyn and her granddaughter Monique.
Raised in a large and close-knit family, Delilah was one of nine sisters, two brothers, and four half‑siblings. All of her siblings preceded her in death except her sister, Gail Powell of New Kensington, Pennsylvania. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will remember her with loving affection.
Affectionately known as Jean or Lilie, Delilah lived a rich and fulfilling life centered around family, friendship, and community. In her youth, she graduated high school and served as head majorette at Leechburg High School. She moved to Pittsburgh in 1950, where she married the love of her life, Edward. Over the years, she found joy in bowling, golfing, shopping, cooking, cheering for her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and attending church services at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church.
Professionally, Delilah dedicated 30 years of service as an Administrative Assistant at UPMC’s Western Psychiatric Institute in Pittsburgh, retiring in 1997. In 2016, she relocated to a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia to be near her children, Lisa and Jerome.
As a mother and grandmother, she was our greatest teacher and most steadfast supporter. She taught us not only how to live, but how to love—with patience, compassion, and unwavering strength. She celebrated our triumphs, stood beside us through challenges and ensured we never doubted how deeply we were loved.
Delilah will be remembered as a woman of exceptional kindness, beauty, and warmth—someone whose presence and thoughtfulness enriched every life she touched. Her absence will be deeply felt and her memory forever cherished.
Georgia Cremation in Duluth assisted the family with arrangements.

What a beautifully, well written depiction of Aunt Lilie. To know her was to truly love her. I’m going to miss our daily ‘Words with Friends’ games, but I’m so thankful we were able to share some fun and enjoyable times together these past few years. My Aunt was SHARP! 🥰
