Elizabeth Harris Dingman, 51, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at her home. Memorial services will be held at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home at 240 Walton St., Hamilton, GA on Thursday, February, 1, 2024 at 2pm. Visitation prior and after the will occur.

Joy is survived by her brother James (Jimmy) Harris (Brenda) of Macclenny, FL, her sister Marie Key (Ed) of Sevierville, TN, her brother Rondall Harris of Mesa, AZ, her brother Michael Wells (Robin) of Sevierville, TN, her brother Shane Wells (Maleah) of Tiffon, OH, her son Robert Eugene Anagnost of Keystone Heights, FL, her niece Alyse Taylor (Randall) of Augusta, GA, her niece Meghan Harris of Morgantown, WV, her nephew Stuart Harris of Sierra Vista, AZ, her nephews Daniel, Joshua and David Key of Sevierville, TN, her nephew Griffin Wells of Tiffon, OH, her great niece Karlin Taylor of Augusta, GA.

Joy was preceded in death by her father and mother James Houston Harris and Willie Mae Smith.

Joy was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 15th, 1972 and graduated from Columbus High School in 1992.

Joy held various jobs prior to accepting a position with the Smokey Bones restaurant in Columbus, GA in July of 2003. Joy work there for 20 years plus until the time of her passing. This was a proud accomplishment for Joy and was celebrated with her Smokey Bones family in July 2023.

Throughout her life Joy was known for her generous nature, was always willing to help anyone in need. She radiated warmth and joy to everyone she encountered. Joy never met a stranger. What made Joy truly special was her unwavering love for people. She saw the beauty in every individual and treated them with kindness and compassion. She was always there to help anyone that needed it even when she didn’t have much to give. Her love knew no boundaries and touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Memorialization will be by cremation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the following link to assist with funeral costs and a charitable donation in Joy’s name.
