Erin Ann Saxton was born to her parents, Reuben and Elizabeth Pitts, on November 19, 1943 in Gadsden, AL. She died peacefully on March 19, 2025.
Ann was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at age 15 in 1958. Her love for her God, Jehovah, was obvious to those who knew her. She had almost 67 years of faithful service. In 1961, Ann met James when she went to visit her sister who had moved to Michigan. They met, fell in love, and were married on March 31, 1962. They would have celebrated their 63rd anniversary 12 days after she died. They had a reputation of being a kind and loving couple to each other and to others.
Ann loved children and together they raised 5 children: Arnold, Grace “Beth”, Gary, Robert, and Patricia. James and Ann also helped raise about 70 foster children. Ann never met a stranger. She was kind-hearted and outgoing, loved to sew, and loved to feed people. Her home was always open to friends, and she loved it when people just stopped by for a visit.
Ann is survived by her husband, James, and her four children Arnold, Gary, Robert, and Patricia; siblings Elizabeth Nan Boyd, Sarah Vance, Kenneth Pitts and Tommy Pitts: several grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews such as Terry Brown and Sherman Hammett just to name a few.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Elizabeth Pitts; her siblings Bertie, David, Robert, Walter, Margie and Betty; her daughter Grace Elizabeth Davis; and granddaughter Angela Erin Saxton.
The family would like to thank you for your prayers and support during this time. We look forward to the future time when Jehovah promises: “no resident will say: “I am sick.” (Isa. 33:24)

Ann is missed by all who knew her. The love and kindness she always displayed was truly inspiring. The Bible character she reminds us of is Dorcas, always giving to others. That’s what she loved to do. She loved her God Jehovah and would tell people about him every chance she got to. What a ball of energy she was. Jehovah truly gave her what Philippians 2:13 says, he energized her and gave her the desire and the power act on behalf of Jehovah and to help others. She was truly an amazing wife, mother, sister and friend. We love y’all
