Gloria Ann Yon, retired Endoscopy Technologist, born April 6, 1943, in Thacker, West Virginia, died Sunday, May 26, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Johnnie Aaron Yon, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Yon-LaBonte; her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Thelma Yon. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, (Kesha, Brandon, Victoria, & Kaila); and 8 great-grandchildren, (Chanel, Terrence, Aubrianna, Azaria, Autumn, Leah, Eli, and Vanya). She is also survived by brothers/wives/sister (Lee and Jeannette, Curt and Sue, Donna Chafin, Sybol Flowers, and their children). She had too many friends and loved ones to mention but know that she talked of you often – her Gwinnett Hospital crew, Lori’s Little Land, and our many church friends (to name a few).
She was proud of her heritage, as her mother was a “Real” McCoy’s of Kentucky. She loved her books, and crafts, could find a way to make something out of nothing, and was a great baker. Strong and stubborn, she was loved by all who met her and will be missed with every day that passes by.
Georgia Cremation in Duluth is assisting the family with arrangements.
