Jessica B. (Rucho) Brunelle, 49, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Piedmont Regional
Hospital in Columbus, GA.
Jessica was born in Worcester, MA, a daughter of the late Judith and Louis Rucho. In her childhood
years, she enjoyed working at Diane’s Flower Shop, owned by her parents. This experience cultivated a
profound sense of contemporary artistic style that was unique to Jessica. She moved to Florida in her
early teenage years, where she attended numerous universities in Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Orlando. She
graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of South Florida in 1998, and worked as a
freelance artist for many years, specializing in sculpture, floral arrangement, and craft artistry. She was an
avid animal rights advocate, participating in many volunteer-based animal protection societies, most
recently a member of the Ybor Chickens Society. She was a kind and gentle soul; she adored spending
time with her family and was constantly involved in supporting her children in their endeavors. Jessica is
survived by her daughter, Gracie Brunelle of Columbus, GA; her son, Dimitri Brunelle of Champaign, IL;
her husband, Richard Brunelle of Columbus, GA; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving family.
She was a devoted mother, daughter, and aunt.
A celebration of life will be held at her mother-in-law’s residence in Columbus, GA on Thursday,
October 27 at 5 PM.
Georgia Cremation of Columbus, Georgia is assisting family.
