John Martin Call, 68, departed this life peacefully at his home on February 2nd, 2023.
John was born on February 21, 1954, in Beverly, MA to Nancy (Ward) Call and the late Robert F. Call. He grew up in Hamilton, Massachusetts alongside his sisters Jane and Janet and his brother James. He graduated from Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School and continued his education at Southern Massachusetts University in Dartmouth, MA.
After college John worked for Project Adventure, Inc., spending his summers leading canoe trips through the North Maine Woods before moving to Georgia to open the company’s southern office.
In 1986 he moved to Snellville, GA where he started a family and raised his children Rob and Katie. John loved supporting his children in their passions, volunteering as a leader in Boy Scout Troop 582, and crossing the state to attend equestrian events and drumline competitions.
In 1999 John started working at BellSouth (now AT&T), where he worked until his retirement in 2021.
John could often be found in his workshop or garage working with wood, fixing his truck, or rebuilding something he had carefully taken apart to repair. He was also an avid outdoorsman who was happiest sitting on a pier fishing or behind a duck blind hunting.
John was preceded in death by his father Robert F. Call, his older sister Jane (Call) Greenlaw, and his younger brother James M. Call. He will be greatly missed, and is survived by his mother Nancy (Ward) Call, his sister Janet Call Flynn (Matthew), his son Rob Call, his daughter Katie Call, and numerous nieces and nephews, who will cherish memories made together.
In the coming months his family and friends will hold a gathering to memorialize and celebrate John’s life.
Georgia Cremation at 3570 Buford Hwy, Suite 202, Duluth, GA is assisting the family.

Katie and rob i am so sorry for your loss. I will miss john we talked a couple of times a week as I drove home from work. We worked together at bell and ATT and still kept In touch after he retired and I moved to Tennessee. He was very proud of both of y’all. I look forward to meeting y’all at some point.
