Larry Dee Beck

Share

Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.

Larry Dee Beck, age 79, of Peachtree City, passed away May 11, 2026.

Larry was born in Southgate, California on March 1, 1947, to the late Donald and Beverly
(Simon) Beck. He grew up in the South Gate/Glendale, CA area alongside his parents and his
twin brother Gary. The family later moved and Larry spent some of his younger years in Los
Angeles, CA, Hartsdale, NY, Chicago, IL, and Hutchinson, KS. Larry graduated from Glenbrook
North High School in 1965 and went on to attend Glendale City College for 2 years.

Larry enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1966, and was stationed in Charleston, Maine.
He served three years in the Air Force working as an Air Traffic Controller. After his military
service ended, Larry went to work for Delta Air Lines as a bag handler. He moved up in
positions working the TARMAC, then to Terminal Supervisor and then Marketing Manager. He
spent 36 years with Delta finishing his career as Chief Intelligence Officer for American
Southeast Airlines.

While taking a scuba diving class in Redondo Beach, CA, Larry met the love of his life, Linda.
The two were wed on February 16, 1975 while living in Redondo Beach but later moved around
the country. The family lived in Alabama, Louisiana, and Washington D.C., before deciding to
put down roots in Peachtree city, GA, where they spent the next 33 years raising their two sons.
Throughout his life Larry was active in many organizations, such as the U.S. Junior Chamber
(Jaycees), Trout Unlimited (TU), and also served on the Board of Directors for Georgia Aviation
& Technical College.

In his free time Larry enjoyed reading mystery and science fiction novels, watching Western
films, listening to music, traveling to new destinations, playing tennis, and he was an avid skier.
He spent the last several years traveling the world with Linda and the couple renewed their vows
for their 50 th Wedding Anniversary which was one of their most coveted memories together.
Larry adored his family and took great joy in traveling the world on cruise ships, large and small,
with the love of his life, Linda. He also loved the sun and the water, and spent as much time as
possible at the beach or by a pool listening to The Eagles, his favorite band, or reading a mystery
novel. He was a people person, never meeting a stranger, he was always quick with the jokes and
seemed to laugh with his whole being. Larry also enjoyed good food and live music anytime they
were available.

Larry is preceded in death by his wife: Linda Jean (Tatti) Beck; and his parents: Donald Lee
Beck and Beverly Beck-Gaultney. He is survived by his sons: Daniel Beck of New York, NY,
and Thomas Beck of Peachtree City, GA; and his twin brother: Gary Beck (Mary) of Pasadena,
CA.

Thomas and Daniel will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Larry at their home in Peachtree
City on Saturday, June 13th from 2 – 5 pm.

The Beck family is being assisted by Georgia Cremation, 1086 Hwy 54 West, Fayetteville.

Larry was a great friend and we spent many great years climbing the ladder together at Delta. A tremendously hard worker Larry also knew how to wind down. Music, good food, beach time, and especially that great belly laugh. I will always remember sailing from Marina Del Rey to Catalina and then snorkeling. God Bless you Larry and God Bless Daniel, Thomas, and Gary. Love, Dan & Raquel Bleich

    Daniel, Thomas, and Gary,

I was deeply saddened to hear about Larry’s passing. Larry was not only a remarkable leader at Delta, but also a great mentor and friend to so many of us. I had the privilege of working with him during his time as Regional Marketing Manager in San Juan, and I will always treasure our conversations and the many joint sales visits we shared together.

Larry had a special way of lifting the mood wherever he was. He leaves behind an extraordinary legacy — not only through his professional accomplishments, but through the lives he touched with his friendship, mentorship, laughter, and love for family and friends.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you, and I hope the many wonderful memories of Larry bring comfort and peace in the days ahead. Janet P Marroquin/SJU P.R.

    Daniel, Thomas and Gary,

What a joy it was to know Larry! His quick wit and contagious laughter always brightened the room. I loved his “tell it like it is” and “don’t sweat the small stuff” mentality. Larry may be physically gone but we carry a small piece of his amazing spirit in our hearts. Cheers to a life well lived . I know that he will will be pleased to hear that timeless greeting “Well done, good and faithful servant!” Until we meet again!

Mr. Beck always treated me like a son. Always showing me things, telling me Dad jokes, and taking me on adventures. Linda and Larry were my second parents. I miss them both, but will never forget the lessons, fun times, and will always consider Thomas and Dan my brothers. I do not know what kind of person I would have grown up to be without them, and glad that I will never have to know. Larry and Linda, we miss you and may your memory be eternal.

Larry was a great guy and friend. Always a joke or a story to liven up the party. Our OMBB trips will never be the same. You will be missed by all of us.
