May 6, 1998 – December 29, 2023
Lucy Feldman passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 29, 2023, at the age of 25. Lucy was academically gifted from a young age and attended the Georgia Institute of Technology. She was deeply connected to the Georgia Tech community, as a member of Theta Chi fraternity and as President of the Georgia Tech chapter of the Young Democratic Socialists of America. Lucy possessed a stunning intellect along with an uncanny ability to retain and share the most obscure pieces of information.
Lucy was a talented athlete and her skills as a water skier, free runner, and skateboarder were a delight to observe. As a teenager, Lucy was a top 10 nationally ranked water skier. As an adult, she picked up free running (similar to parkour) and was an avid skateboarder. She loved to challenge herself to master increasingly complex skills. Those who knew her well describe her love of adrenaline-fueled sports and the thrill of adventure. She brought her skateboard with her everywhere she went, even on airplane trips.
Lucy loved unique and neo-psychedelic music, the Shaky Knees Festival being a particular passion and she sported a tattoo of the Shaky Knees logo. Lucy expressed her spunky fashion sense though self-styled creative outfits and bright pink hair.
Lucy was a beacon of light, with an impish smile who illuminated the lives of all who met her. She was a loyal and devoted friend who built a supportive community of close friends in Atlanta. They describe her as an excellent listener, caring and a constant source of fun. She was famously stubborn and could hold spirited debates about topics serious or mundane, sublime, or ridiculous.
Lucy is survived by her father, Martin Feldman; sister Allie Luna; stepmother Judy Devore Feldman; stepsister and brother, Marissa and Joshua Devore; stepfather Joseph Luna; stepbrothers, Cole and Alec Luna; and grandmother Mary Feldman. She was preceded in death by her mother, Victoria Luna.
A Celebration of Life service honoring Lucy will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2023, at 12 noon at the Connemara Community Club House , located at 3422 Connemara Trace, Lawrenceville, GA 30044.
