Lula M. Brown, age 82, of Jonesboro, passed away January 14, 2022.
Lula was born in Pensacola, Florida on February 3, 1939 to the late Dixie Bodley and Ensalee Phillips. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a loving woman and an excellent cook. Lula was an active member of Dixon Grove Baptist Church in Jonesboro where she was a pastor’s aide and sang in the church choir. Lula will be remembered by her giving spirit, contagious smile and the laughter she shared with friends and family.
Along with her parents, Lula was preceded in death by her husband: Samuel Brown; brother: Roosevelt Phillips; sister: Geneva Martin. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Lula and Samuel Butler of Jonesboro; grandchildren: Michelle Butler of Fairburn, Gary Butler of Jonesboro; great-granddaughter: Maren Lynn; great-aunts: Emma Covington and Clara “Tiny” Sims both of Sacramento, CA; multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.

I have so many wonderful memories of Lula that will always be with me. Family barbecues in our back yard, milestone celebrations, and many fun times together just to name a few.
