Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
Mrs. Margaret Welborn Espy, age 70 of Duluth, Georgia went to her new home in Heaven on December 6, 2022.
Margaret was born in Augusta, Georgia on December 26, 1951, to the late Oscar and Hugh Margaret Welborn. She leaves behind her two daughters, Kathryn Bacalis, and her husband Perry Bacalis, and their three children, Nico, Cecilia, and Lenny; and Michelle Wine and her four children, Averie, Asher, Eliana, and Oliver; and her husband, David L. Espy.
After graduating from Randolph–Macon College in Virginia, she taught foreign languages in junior high schools in and around Charlotte, North Carolina for many years. In 2003 she moved to Duluth, Georgia, and switched from teaching to corporate sales. She was very proud of her sales success as the top salesperson for a small automotive company for seventeen years because she overcame many obstacles to achieve that title. She was a leader in many Christian groups she participated in because she always knew the purpose of her life and what needed to be accomplished.
Her life was a true testimony to her Christian Faith in God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. She had an amazing impact on her family, friends, and anyone else she met during her journey in this life. Her wonderful laugh was contagious and delighted all who knew her and appreciated her strong and powerful personality. She had a unique ability to love others in a way that encouraged them to face whatever struggle they faced with truth, perseverance, and determination. As an avid reader, her library was full of books, and she always had a story to share with others to help them smile. Rarely would a week go by that she didn’t have fresh flowers in her home that accompanied her many house plants?
We know Margaret is looking down from heaven sending us words of encouragement. She will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life Service for Margaret will be held at a later time.
