Mrs. Martha LeMarr Foust, age 96, passed away peacefully at home in Peachtree City, GA on Sunday, September 17, 2017.
Martha was born on November 1,1920 to the late Vachel and Nancy LeMarr in LaFollette, TN. She was a telephone operator for AT&T and retired after 35 years of service. She was also one of the “Calutron Girls” working on the Manhattan project in Oak Ridge, TN during WWII.
She married the love of her life, Erbin Foust, and spent 8 wonderful years with him until his death in 1963. She was a devoted mother and raised her two daughters on her own after her husband’s death.
Along with her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her siblings: Nina Rutherford, Curtis LeMarr, Orpha Vincent, William LeMarr, Dora Jones, Frieda LeMarr and Vachel Lemarr, Jr. She is survived by her daughters: Lois (Richard) Dean of Dayton, OH and Vickie Siliski of Peachtree City, GA; granddaughters: Janice (Chuck) Tibbetts and Ashley (Victor) Houston, all of Louisville, KY; great-grandchildren: Henry and Joshua Houston, and Kara and Cassia Tibbetts; sisters: Edna Bolton and Jean (Al) Hubbs.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on October 7, 2017 at LeMarr Family Cemetery. The Foust family is being assisted by Georgia Cremation, 1086 Highway 54 West, Fayetteville.
