Alva Ailene Mazenis, age 72, of Lawrenceville, Georgia passed away January 28, 2016.
Proverbs 31:25 She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.
Alva was born to a farmer couple in Lexington, Kentucky; was the youngest daughter of her family with many siblings, and was a twin. She experienced a long life of many things – both good and bad; but always interesting and always adventurous. She was a person “you never forgot”, which was an understatement. Alva was feisty, tenderhearted, fashionable before her time, a lover of beautiful things and animals. Country music was her favorite. She had a zest for using her wonderful skills to change old things into new. Her love of reading books, woodworking, drawing, building and of course collecting antiques was centered in her life and her intellect passionate in many issues. Alva was an artist, a mom, a rebel, a social butterfly, determined and tenacious, and had old fashioned values with a love of family. Her struggles were deep, but shared a heart so big and full of love with everyone she met. Her nickname was Wendy; she loved that song “Everyone Knows It’s Wendy…”. The song was much like her personality and spirit. She was loved by many……..she will be greatly missed.
To Her Daughters, “She is ours and we will be forever hers in this life, the next and always in our hearts.”
Alva is survived by her daughters, Elisa Reyna and Angela Reyna; grandsons, Jordan Janeiro and Christopher L. Ratterree; great granddaughter, Alliana Reyna Janeiro; last surviving sibling & twin brother Bobby Clayburn; and many nieces and nephews of the Clayburn Clan.
