Nancy Marie Hancock, 59, of Phenix City, AL, died at home on February 23, 2024, surrounded by family.
Nancy was born in Warner Robins, GA, in 1964 to Russell and Elizabeth Cooper, and graduated from Northside High School in 1982. Nancy was a medical assistant for many years. She had a heart for others, which showed in her daily life.. Nancy was married for 35 years to James “Alan” Hancock, the love of her life. Her children were her world, but nothing compared to her grandchildren. Her love showed through in every way for each and every one of them, as she often told them, they were her sunshine.
Nancy was preceded in death by parents Russell and Elizabeth Cooper, Warner Robins, GA; stepmother Judi Cooper, Warner Robins, GA, granddaughter Priscilla Christine “Chrissy” Hancock; brother Rusty Cooper, Warner Robins, GA, brother Johnny Babb, Milledgeville, GA, nephew Grant Cooper, Byron, GA and is survived by husband James “Alan” Hancock, Phenix City, AL; son Charles Russell “Chaz” Hancock (Jamie), Phenix City, AL; son Phillip Hancock. Auburn, AL; daughter Shannon Duraso (Kevin), Phenix City, AL; grandchildren Kobe Hancock, Jay Hancock, Matthew Hancock, Katie Mae Pittman, Tyler Steele, Taylor Duraso, Coleman Duraso (Lydia), Summer Ferguson, Autumn Ferguson, Serenity Hancock, Naomi Hancock and Emmerson Kelsoe; brother Tony Cooper (Judy), Macon , GA; brother Kenneth Cooper (Deanna), Warner Robins, GA; nieces/nephews Sara Cooper, Mysha Cooper, Xavier Cooper, along with many other family and friends.
Her celebration of life is Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Grace Freewill Baptist Church, in Phenix City, AL, 2:00 pm eastern time.. The family will receive guests immediately following in the fellowship hall. Flowers/plants, though not necessary, will be received at 730 Lee Road 234, Phenix City, AL 36870.
