Patricia Durham, age 83, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of September 26, 2026, at Brightmoor Hospice. Born to the late Claud L. Durham Sr., and Ina Estelle Durham (Ragan), Ms. Durham grew up alongside her brothers and sister in Atlanta, Georgia.

In her early years, she graduated from Murphy High School in 1961, and married Jack W. Tolbert Jr. in July of that same year. The two enjoyed over two decades together before they divorced in March of 1984.

She went on to settle in Griffin, Georgia, where, in the winter of her life, she became a long-term resident of Brightmoor Nursing Center, as well as a member of the North Griffin Church. During her life, she was a person of great kindness and encouragement. She often gifted personalized colored pictures to both residents and staff at Brightmoor, just to brighten someone’s day and see them smile. She also enjoyed sending monthly encouragement cards to those suffering with cancer through the Cancer Warriors Organization. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Claud L. Durham Sr., and Ina Estelle Durham (Ragan); her stepmother, Frances E. Durham; and her brothers, Claude, Leroy, and Ronnie Durham. 

She is survived by her sister Charlotte (Billy) Roberts, of Williamson, GA; her brother, Doug (Cathi) Durham, of Lilburn, GA; her children, Christene (Larry) Crowder, of Griffin, GA; Blackie (Casey) Lawless, of McDonough, GA; Kerry Tolbert, of North GA; and Jessica (Ken) Nelms, of Milner, GA; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A private memorial service will be held at Brightmoor Nursing Center on October 10th, 2026, for the family and staff to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made either to the North Griffin Church or the American Cancer Society.
