Patricia Holland Waldrop

May 17, 1946 – July 28, 2026

With profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of Patricia Holland Waldrop, who peacefully departed this life on July 28, 2026, at the age of 80.

Born on May 17, 1946, Tricia was the beloved daughter of John Dismuke Holland and Irene Haywood Holland. She called Columbus, Georgia, home for most of her life. She was a proud graduate of Columbus High School, and it was in Columbus where she built her life, formed lasting friendships, and created a lifetime of memories.

Tricia spent much of her career in the banking industry, where she was known for her dedication, genuine kindness, and the friendships she formed along the way.

Outside of work, Tricia found her greatest joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending time in her yard, tending to flowers and creating beautiful outdoor spaces. She had a special place in her heart for cats, always welcoming their companionship. She could often be found with a good book in hand, happily escaping into its pages.

Those who knew Tricia will remember her as fun-loving, creative, and resilient. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a determined spirit, and a heart that loved deeply. She lived life on her own terms—with determination, independence, and a creative spirit.

Tricia is lovingly remembered by her son, Ernest Shelton Evans (“Shel”); her daughter, Elizabeth Evans Findlater (“Beth”), and her husband, Jim; her sisters, Anne Fox of Columbus, Georgia, and Joan Barksdale of Auburn, Alabama; her brother, Jim Tom Holland, and his wife, Susan, of Harris County, Georgia; her grandchildren, Ernest Shelton Evans (Shelton), Cain Smith (Taylor), Bailey Smith, and Hannah Wells (Danny); her great-grandchildren, Easton Smith, Corbin Smith, Reed Dowdy, Jolie Gilmore, Emma Gilmore, and Daniel Gilmore. She also leaves behind extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Tricia will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Historic Linwood Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia. A graveside service will be held.

Georgia Cremation-Columbus is assisting the family with the arrangements.
