Paul Melvin Orr passed from this life September 3rd 2024. Melvin was born on July 7, 1945 in Atlanta, Georgia to parents Sam and Doris Orr. He spent his early life in Blakely, Georgia, graduating high school, class of 1963.
Melvin married the love of his life Becky and the couple would go on to have 4 children together. He lived all over Georgia but spent most of his adult life in High Falls, Georgia. He retired from Sherwin-Williams where he worked as a forklift driver.
Melvin had many titles such as pawpaw, pops, dad, brother, uncle and friend. He was a proud father and grandfather. Melvin loved spending time with family at many reunions and holiday get-togethers. In his later years, his grandson, Adam and his wife Mary- Beth, would care for Melvin. He enjoyed listening to the ball game on the radio while sitting on his porch or jumping in the car for a dirt road drive.

Melvin will be remembered as a kind loving man. He was never afraid to speak his mind or share a fun story. Melvin was a strong father who raised his 4 children and his “bonus child” Adam, who he treated as his own child. His wishes were to be remembered this way and for Adam to stay strong for him.
A memorial service for Melvin will be held on Saturday, September 14th at 3:00pm at High Falls State Park.
