Phillip Dudley Webb, 63, of Cataula, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
Phil was born on March 4, 1963 in Columbus, Georgia to Charles and Miriam Webb. He spent the majority of his life in the Columbus and Phenix City area working for and running his family’s construction company.
In 1989 he married his beloved wife, Dodie. In their 37 years together, they raised three children, led multiple community groups, and poured into countless individuals.
Phil was a pillar in every community he found himself in, from the construction world to the Chick-fil-a drive thru. He was a father figure and mentor to countless men and women who passed through his church, home, and business throughout the years. He never met a stranger and was uniquely gifted with wit and wisdom.
Never one to sit still, Phil enjoyed woodworking, aviation, the pursuit of the perfect cinnamon roll, and tinkering with anything mechanical. Above all, his passion was to see the Gospel spread and the Kingdom of God advanced here on earth.
He loved his family and adored being Daddy Phil to his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Dodie; children, Sam Webb (Raleigh), Nate Webb (Laura Jane), Anna Tramell (Cam); grandchildren, Finn, Margot, Nora, Griffin, and another on the way; mother, Miriam Webb; brothers, Alan Webb (Leslie) and Stuart Webb (Misty).
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 10th at Evangel Church in Columbus. The family will receive visitors at 1:00 pm with a service to follow at 2:00 pm. The family requests colorful clothing be worn to celebrate Phil’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your church’s global mission organizations.
Georgia Cremation-Columbus is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Must I agree a Pillar for the gospel. Knowing him and Dodie at Crossroads church during their time in Coweta county friendship like theirs doesnt end. Having and growing our kids togerher in younger years and still once mine were older he and Dodie called to check on them and their safety. Today Phil ended his race here on earth to abide with his Heavenly Father. I can just wonder what him and Rodney are talking about certainly not constructing or pouring concrete okay maybe they are helping the Lord prepare our plac3 when we all meet again in heaven. As Phil wpuld probably tell us all now you better be ready to meet our Saviour!!

Dodie,
We are so saddened by this news for you and your family. I always enjoyed interacting with Phil during our archery days. Eric is, to this day, so appreciative of him loaning us some equipment and providing advice when we were adding on a few years ago. Praying for you, Anna, and your entire family.

Our deepest condolences!! It is so true that Phil never met a stranger. Phil invited us to lunch the first day we attended church in Columbus and we were all friends from that day forward. He leaves behind a beautiful family, cherished memories and a Godly legacy!!

PAT FLOWERS says
Dodie, I was missing you and Phil. I could always look to my left at church and find you there. Phil had such an endearing way of reaching out to others, asking their name and making them feel welcome. Now, he’s gone. I’m heartbroken. I pray for your sweet, warm heart; that God will surround you and keep you. 💜🌿

So sad to lose such a fine young man. Coach Howard thought of him as an assistant coach when he was a football manager at Glenwood. He will be missed by so many.

CH (MAJ) Gill Price says
Phil Webb was generosity personified. He had a heart for people, particularly those who might otherwise be overlooked or forgotten. At church, Phil always seemed to have an eye out for the stranger, especially transient Soldiers from Fort Benning who found themselves far from home and family. He and Dodie would take them to lunch after church on Sundays and open their home to them during the holidays. Through their kindness, countless military families experienced the warmth of the Webbs’ hospitality and the feeling of being welcomed and cared for.
Holly and I experienced Phil’s generosity firsthand when he and Dodie helped support us during seminary. Their kindness was more than a gift; it was a tangible expression of their love for others and their desire to invest in people.
We will always remember Phil for his generous spirit, his compassionate heart, and the many lives he touched through simple, faithful acts of kindness. His life reminds us that generosity is not merely about what we give, but about how we make others feel seen, welcomed, and loved. We are deeply grateful to have been among those blessed by Phil and Dodie Webb’s kindness.
