Mr. Robert Jerome Dardy ascended to his heavenly home on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the home of his niece in Harris County.
Robert was born May 25, 1964, in Troup County, GA. He was the son of the late Rozell “Jill” Dardy Sr. and Rosie Lee Reed Dardy. Robert departed this life on Friday, February 16, 2024, after briefly being under hospice care. He was a resident of Lanett, AL at the time of his passing.
Robert was a good, faithful, Christian who gave his life over to Christ at an early age. During his childhood and youth, he was a member of his family’s church, New Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, West Point, GA. As an adult he became a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Valley, AL. Robert was the youngest of eight children. He attended the West Point Public School System. Robert graduated from West Point (Raiders) High School with the Class of 1982. He attended college for some time in Texas before returning home to West Point. Where at that time Robert became employed by West Point Stevens for years. Robert was also employed at a few other textile plants and warehouses for years in the surrounding areas. He was a hardworking and committed employee. Robert loved his family, friends, and his community.
Robert was preceded in death by his four brothers, Roy Lee Dardy, Lee Morris Dardy, Johnny Louis Dardy, Rozell Dardy Jr.; five sisters, Lucille Dardy, Baby Dardy, Ollie Mae Dardy, Josiephine Dardy Scott, and Dorine Dardy Drakes.
He leaves to cherish his memories two children, Jasmine Darcel Dardy, Columbus, GA and Devin Zekiah Dardy, Lagrange, GA; two brothers, Joey (Gwendolyn) Dardy, Lanett, AL; Bennie (Vera) Dardy, Opelika, AL; one brother-in-law, Willie Scott, Sr., LaGrange,
GA, 27 nieces and nephews, a host of great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, West Point.
