Sabrina was born February 18, 1987 in Opelika, AL. to Angela Stewart and Cecil Adams. She passed away at home on January 1, 2024 after a brief, but fierce battle with cancer. She was only 36 years old, but she packed a lot of living and adventure in her short time.
Sabrina graduated from Beulah High School and pursued a career in nursing. She started at Southern Union with an Associate’s Degree, Troy University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree and then her Master’s in Nursing at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. She was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and worked for St. Francis in Columbus in Labor and Delivery.
While Sabrina was at Southern Union she worked at Fire House Subs and that is where she met Tory. It took a while for them to begin dating, but once they had their first date they were not separated. Tory was her biggest fan and helped her achieve her dreams of education and travel. Sabrina had a sense of adventure and it started with a wedding in St. Lucia. She and Tory began to kayak and that took them to many places, including Uganda to kayak the Nile. In their little Casita they traveled West more than one summer to enjoy the hiking and sites. One of her favorite trips was going to Banff National Park in Canada. Her plans were to recreate many of these trips with Tory and Harrison when he grew older. Harrison was born in 2022 and was one of her greatest joys.
Sabrina was talented at so many things, there wasn’t much she could not do. And if she did not know how she would find out how on YouTube. She was a great artist, a wonderful cook and baker. She could do some plumbing and was a carpenter of sorts.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Jerry and Mary Adams and Larry Medlin and an Aunt, Sabrina Mae Adams. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Tory, her son, Harrison. Mother and step-father, Angela and James Stewart. Father, Cecil Adams. Sister and her husband Hayley (Tyler) Fugitt. Grandmother Betty Medlin. Mother-in-law, Patty Baggett, father-in-law, Thomas Baggett. Brothers-in-law Jimmy, Patrick (Emily) and Roger Baggett. Nephew Daxton Baggett. Aunts and Uncles Robin (John) DuPaul, Jerry D. Adams, Melinda Lesley, Jennifer Moore. Several cousins including Tiffany, who she shared many great summers with when they were young. Waylon, a puppy they fell in love with during one of their travels and gave him a forever home. There are some special friends that were always there when needed and able to help, whether it was to listen, do yard work, bring meals or put up Christmas decorations. We are thankful for all the prayers on Sabrina’s behalf.
Sabrina was beautiful inside and out. Her radiant smile could brighten up your day. To say that she will be missed is an understatement, but we know where she has gone and we will see her again. Until then, we will carry her in our hearts and hold the wonderful memories we have of her.
There will be a Memorial Service to celebrate her life on Saturday, January 13, 2023 at River of Life Church in Hamilton, Georgia. Visitation will begin at 3 pm and the service will begin at 4 pm. All times are Eastern. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Harrison’s 529 Plan for College that was established by her co-workers at St. Francis will be appreciated. Ugift529.com Code P8KQ7B.

I am so very sorry to hear about this. I became friends with Angela in the 7th grade and we remained good friends for years, but of course lost touch as we married and started families. Lauren, as I knew her, was born the day my husband and I got married! I remember like it was yesterday, we went to the hospital after we were married to see Angela and the baby. I over the years have looked at Sabrina’s FB page to see all the travels that you all did. I was just floored when I saw that she had passed! You and Harrison are in my thoughts and prayers and I will be making a contribution to his 529 plan!
