Tammy Renea Holloway

Share

Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.

Tammy Renea Holloway, born Tammy Renea Marsh, left us on June 13, 2026, after an unexpected illness.  Tammy was born on August 10, 1969, and was only 56 when she passed.  But in those 56 years, Tammy left an indelible mark on all those who knew her.

Tammy was exceptionally bright.  She could process information quickly and navigated complex situations with ease.  Tammy received her accounting degree from Columbus State University, and she spent the majority of her career as a paralegal, office manager, and “solver of all problems” for her employers, including her long-time employer and friend, Bobby Jones, who himself passed away in March.  Tammy was well known in the Columbus legal community, and other lawyers, not just Bobby, recognized her considerable talents. She was recently asked by a number of attorneys to assist them on probate matters, where Tammy had developed special expertise.

We appreciate the kind outpouring of affection for Tammy from the many friends and family in Columbus and elsewhere.  Tammy was known as someone who enjoyed doing things for others, whether helping a neighbor, a family member, another member of the legal community, or a random person asking for help.  Tammy spoke about how much joy it gave her to do things for other people, and that was obvious by the number of people she impacted.

Tammy’s death was tragic on many levels, most of all because it deprived her of the role she most looked forward to in life:  being Gammy Tammy to her new grandson, Sullivan (or “Sully”).  Tammy adored Sully from the moment she saw him, and the feeling was mutual.  Her family will, however, make sure that Sully is properly educated about Gammy Tammy, and that her spirit lives on throughout his precious life.

Apart from her Gammy Tammy responsibilities, Tammy’s favorite activities involved the peace and serenity of the outdoors:  hiking, kayaking, canoeing, or a stroll along the beach.  Life can be noisy at times, and Tammy enjoyed and sought the refuge nature provided.  Somewhere under a waterfall, you will find some of her spirit.

Tammy leaves behind three boys:  Aaron Wilson, William R. Holloway, III (“Ronny”), and Michael A. Estrada, Jr.  Tammy’s father, Tommy W. Marsh, Sr., passed away in 2001, but her mother, Susan Marsh, survives her, along with Tammy’s two brothers, Tommy W. Marsh, Jr. (Cindy) and Stephen K. Marsh (Valerie).  Tammy grew up with her mother and two brothers in the 1970s and 80s, and the four of them developed a special bond formed from shared experiences.  That bond remains.  Always.

Tammy loved each of her boys, all of whom had unique and special relationships with their mother.  Aaron was her oldest child, and Tammy developed a special kinship with Aaron and his son, Sully, as well as Sully’s mother, Danielle.  Tammy also doted on Ronny, who was the son of her husband, Ronny Holloway, who died in a tragic car accident many years ago.  Tammy adored Ronny’s inherent sweetness, and she loved him dearly because she knew he had a heart of gold.  Her youngest son, Michael, who is a rising senior in high school, made her so proud.  Tammy recognized Michael’s intelligence and aptitude and made every effort to give him a quality education, including fighting for his admission to Columbus High School and ensuring that he attended various camps to broaden his horizons.  She was protective of Michael until her passing, and no doubt that protection will continue, albeit in a different form.

A special mention should also go out to a few of Tammy’s dearest friends and relatives: her Aunt Ann, her Dad’s sister who she dearly loved, her Aunt Lu Bowman who was so special to her, Cousin, Olivia O’Brien, who Tammy loved and admired, her Uncle Richard Bowman, Aunt Sharee Watterson, Her friend of over 30 years, Donna Roberts, who had also been Aaron & Ronny’s babysitter. Her long time friend Kayla Molina & Isobel Spurlock, her co-worker & someone she treated as a daughter. Tammy’s lifelong friend, Caroline, who was her closest confidante. It was Caroline who was checking on Tammy when she passed, and it was Caroline who made every effort to ensure that her friend was okay.  Tammy’s family will be forever grateful.
As is fitting for those who knew Tammy, her life will be celebrated on Friday, June 26, at 2 pm at the Columbus Botanical Garden at 3603 Weems Road (https://www.google.com/maps/search/3603+Weems+Road?entry=gmail&source=g), in Columbus.  In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate in Tammy’s honor to the American Diabetes Association.

Georgia Cremation-Columbus is assisting the family with the arrangements.
