Wilby “Wil” Skylar Wolfson, 20, of Thomaston, GA, passed away on May 10, 2026.
Wil was born on November 25, 2005, in Riverdale, GA, to Wilby and Camille (Chanslor) Wolfson. His early years were spent alongside his family in North Carolina before they moved to Georgia when Wil was five years old. Wil was a loquacious toddler who loved telling imaginative tales and playing outside, often asking, “My go si-guy?” His love for nature later grew to include fishing and hiking. He participated in Boy Scouts and, later in his education, the Civil Air Patrol. He had a keen interest in history and other cultures. Wil graduated a semester early from Upson Lee High School and joined the United States Marine Corps, fulfilling his unwavering childhood dream. Most recently, he enjoyed traveling to Mexico and Argentina and worked as a salesman for Southern Ford.
Wil was preceded in death by his mother, Camille Nicole Wolfson, and his grandmother, Wilby Christian Coleman. He is survived by his father, Wilby Wolfson; brother, Aiden Sol Wolfson; sister, Aerie Rosemary Wolfson; stepfather, Jon Housley; grandfather, David Wolfson; grandmother, Tami Amoroso; great-grandparents, Jan and Dave Nicholson; auntmom, Chappell Wolfson Montaño; aunt, Molly Wolfson Kramer; and uncles, Austin Chanslor and Beau Chanslor.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Wil’s life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church, 2569 Jeff Davis Road, Thomaston, GA 30286. Visitation for Skylar will be held one hour prior to the service, and afterward, the family will open the floor to anyone who would like to speak.
The Wolfson family is being assisted by Georgia Cremation, 1086 Hwy 54 West, Fayetteville.

Out family will remember him as intelligent with an offbeat sense of humor, and a go with the flow easygoing style. We expected big things from him and are sorry we will not see them.
Kelly Carter says
Wil was a fine young man whom I had the pleasure of spending an evening by a bonfire, discussing all manner of things. I know his life touched many hearts, and he will be missed profoundly.
