BKA as Maye, Honey, May 9^th, 2024

A daughter, sister, mother, aunt, friend grandmother and great grandmother 

Maye was full of fun and laughter and would curse you out if the situation presented itself

She was born in Piedmont Alabama October 29,1933 to James Willie and Ezza Bee Alexander.

She had a younger sister Bette Joan who she called “BYE”. Maye studied in Piedmont, Alabama and Cleveland Ohio because her family relocated there for job opportunities during WWII. Maye and her Mom Bee Bee had the gift of creating and designing home furnishing, drapes, pillows and upholstered furniture. While in Cleveland she had her own business where she made customized clothes. She married at a young age and had a son Thomas James who we called “Tommy”. Maye raised and kept many children over the years including cousins grand and great grand and brought others into the fold. She absolutely loved children!! While still living in Cleveland, Maye was invited to a friend’s bar-b-q where she met Fred D Evans. Fred stated that he was looking for “An Alabama born Scorpio woman” He found her…

Maye went with Fred to California and had a BLAST!! They later married in Vegas. In California they enjoyed the Flea Market Scene, grilled, and socialized. They eventually relocated to College Park Georgia to continue their life in the south. Maye continued her creative flair; she worked in retail at Shannon Mall and made many friends. She was the type of person that could do anything if she put her mind to it, which led to her acquiring her real estate license. Maye and Fred began “Evans Drapery and Upholstery” where they created for designers, furnished “The Dream Homes” and made furnishing for Macy’s. We are all quite proud of her and their many accomplishments. Maye had some health challenges in her later years. She lived with a dear sewing friend Naomi for some time. She treated her like a sister.
