Yolonda Charlese Pleasant (affectionately known as Londie) daughter of Shirley A. Johnson and Aaron F. Pleasant was born on January 18, 1969 in Chicago, Illinois. She relocated to College Park, Georgia on October 15, 1984. She is preceded in death by her Father: Aaron Pleasant, Grandmother: Corienth Johnson, Aunt: Emma Smith, Cousin: Stephon Johnson and Stepfather: Alfred Myrick.
At the age of 14, Yolonda asked the question “who is GOD”; and she sought the answer to that question unapologetically and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She loved the Lord and always tried to live her life for Christ.
Yolonda’s early education was in Chicago, Illinois and she finished her education in Georgia. She moved to Los Angeles, California where she wed James Purdue in 1990.
She loved to dance and with a beautiful voice she loved to sing. She was a loving, trusting, and compassionate person who always sought the good in people. Yolonda was given her wings on November 1, 2021; in Atlanta, Georgia.
Yolonda was loved by her family; and she leaves to cherish her memories her Mother: Shirley Myrick (Chicago, IL), Brother: David Myrick (Chicago, IL.), Nieces: Jaquilla Myrick and Quianna Myrick (Chicago, IL.), Nephew: Josiah Myrick (Chicago, IL.), Aunts: Sharon Johnson (Byronville, GA.), Darlene Johnson (Rex, GA.), and Tanya Johnson (Ellenwood, GA.); Uncle: Thomas Johnson (Atlanta, GA.) and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
With gratitude and appreciative hearts the family of Yolonda C Pleasant acknowledges with sincere appreciation your prayers and all acts of kindness bestowed upon us during this time of bereavement every caring gesture has served as a source of comfort during this sad time. Your comforting expressions of sympathy will always be remembered. Thank you, we will miss Londie our beloved daughter, cousin, niece aunt, sister and friend. Continued prayers for our family.
